Honestly this seems like a pretty idyllic life. Slow pace but quick travel to amenities. Rural character and activities. Solar hot water on the roofs and quiet electric transportation. Near the mountains and forest. For young people it's probably too slow and small but for anyone past their 40s it seems great.

It didn't look dirty to me at all, certainly not when you compare it to somewhere like India which is quite simply disgusting. It was cool to see the China away from the big neon cities. The more I see of China, the more I wish I could get out of the wretched (and backward) UK.

As an American (that has lived all over the world, including Hong Kong and Singapore - 20 years starting in the late 60's. My Father did a lot of business in China, I was first there in 1986 when bicycles and Mao outfits ruled the landscape), it is almost embarrassing to see how modern, even rural China is (comparatively speaking). A modern rail system connecting everyone, not hampered by lack of passengers. The fact that, even in rural China, everyone uses electric vehicles. Great channel!
