The Evans' Hall Library offers a growing book collection tailored to the requirements of the degree

programs. The collection aligns with the institutional teaching, learning, and research needs. Users can efficiently locate books using the library catalog. 

Through the agreements with renowned institutions, such as the American Academy in Rome and the Centro Studi Americani,  students also gain access to partner organizations’ library facilities and resources.

The University curriculum increasingly uses multimedia resources for the classroom; to reflect this choice, the library provides a growing collection of DVDs. Students can use the library facilities to enjoy a quiet study area for their work and research. 

They can borrow books, request interlibrary loans, consult the reserve collection, and search the subscribed databases to access eBooks, academic journals, newspapers, newsletters, reports and conference proceedings. Each semester, the library staff deliver workshops and presentations on information literacy, helping students develop effective search strategies, critically evaluate information, and use sources ethically, including proper citation following program-specific style guidelines.

Mission

The AUR Library supports the institutional mission by actively liaising with stakeholders within and outside the university to ensure the identification, selection, purchase, and/or subscription of print and digital resources addressing the patrons' information needs. Presentations in class and training workshops on information literacy complement the library's offerings of products and services.

Policies and procedures

Library Access:

The institutional library is exclusively available to registered students, faculty, and staff members. Guests, visitors, and unauthorized individuals are not permitted access to the library.

Registration:

Patrons must activate a library account using their basic personal information (such as name and surname), along with their institutional email address and ID number, to access the Library’s services and resources. Personal data is collected and used solely for the provision and management of library services, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws. Borrowing and Returning Books:

Patrons must return loans by the due date or renew them by contacting the library staff at the following email addresses: library@aur.edu or s.mastrocicco@aur.edu. Reference, audiovisual, and reserved materials cannot be checked out and are available only for on-site consultation.
Patrons can request interlibrary loans, document deliveries, and access print and digital resources from affiliated institutions.

Reference Service:

The library staff delivers in-class sessions and arranges extracurricular presentations on information literacy. Library users can request assistance from the librarian using the Ask-a-Librarian feature, available from the AUR discovery tool homepage or the Academic Support Services page on MyAUR.

Library Conduct:

Silence must be maintained at all times. Mobile phones should be kept on silent mode.

Study Space Usage:

Students can book a seat or reserve the reading room (classroom C8) for podcast recording using the booking system on MyAUR portal. Study spaces must be used respectfully and left clean after use.

Violation of Rules:

Any violation of library rules may result in temporary or permanent suspension of library privileges.
