How to Remove a Nintendo Account from a Family Group

Steps to leave a family group or remove a Nintendo Account from your family group.

Complete these steps

A Nintendo Account can be removed by either the family group admin or the Nintendo Account owner.

Review the information on the screen, then select Confirm to remove the account from the family group.

Nintendo Account owner

Open accounts.nintendo.com and log in to your Nintendo Account.

Select Family group.

Select Leave this family group.

Select Leave family group again to detach your Nintendo Account from the group.

Additional information

Nintendo Switch Online family membership is available to all Nintendo Accounts in the membership owner's family group.

If a member leaves the owner's family group, they will no longer be covered by that family membership.

If the membership owner leaves the group, the other members of the family group will no longer be covered by that family membership.

When a Nintendo Account is removed from the family group, all Nintendo eShop restrictions will be lifted and account history will no longer be visible to the parent/guardian.
