北交大经管院国际咨询委员Saul Klein：商学院与贸易促进的关系值得研究

2019年5月18日，学院召开第五届国际咨询委员会（International Advisory Committee, 简称IAC）会议暨亚欧互联互通国际论坛，中外专家学者齐聚北京交通大学红果园宾馆多功能厅，围绕“亚欧互联互通”主题，共商全球新形势下面临的机遇与挑战，积极探索亚欧联通背景下商学院的建设与发展。

以下为现场专访实录：

记者：各位腾讯的网友大家好，这里是北京交通大学经济管理学院第五届国际咨询委员会的会议现场。坐在我旁边的这位就是加拿大维多利亚大学Gustavson商学院 院长Prof. Saul Klein，请您做一下自我介绍。

Saul Klein：Hi, it is my pleasure to be here. I am Saul Klein. I am the dean of Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria of Canada.

记者：亚欧合作成果遍地开花，在跨境电子商务、教育、旅游、双边贸易等方面均取得颇多成果，您最关注那一方面，为什么？

Saul Klein：The relationship between china and Europe is an interesting one. there been lots of opportunities, lots of development. The part that I am most worried about is the future of trade relationship. we are seeing a significant break down in internationalization movement. Partly it is a consequence of the benefit of globalization not being wildly spread, but the consequence is that countries are being more protectionist, that is a disturbing trend. even though we see great movement of people, tourism I think is going to be strong, education sector is strong, but I do worry about manufacturing of a basis of trade of becoming more disrupted.

记者：第二个问题，发展商学院教育与推动亚欧互联互通之间是否存在良性的双向关系，您为什么这样认为？

Saul Klein：I think business schools are playing an interesting role in helping facilitate the trade relationships. So, the positive aspect, we have been helping students and helping managers understand how to integrate develop global supply chain, and its consequence better integrated economies. the problems are the business schools haven’t done a very good job looking at distribution of benefit of trade. As a consequence, we have seen that overall trade is being very beneficial for economies, it hasn’t been beneficial for all people. benefits from trade has been focused and concentrated in a relatively small number of people. and I think the challenge now wee see in the world is that the people who are not benefiting from trade, who seeing the negatives are starting to through the political system, particularly in west Europe, but also in north America starting to object and saying that we need to return to a more fair bases of trade. that is a very disturbing consequence because trade certainly has been beneficial, but we need to find a way that the benefits can be more widely distributed.
